Kangaroo Island rewards those who take their time. Discover beautiful beaches, wildlife, walking trails, local produce, wineries and remarkable natural landscapes, then return to the peace of Clearwater Haven.
Or leave a day unscheduled. The beach, bush and deck are right here.
Kangaroo Island has much more to offer than you can fit into a short stay.
Explore the famous Remarkable Rocks, discover local galleries and food producers, or spend a day exploring the island’s beaches. For an up to date list of activities, see the Kangaroo Island visitor map.
Start with your own secluded beach, then explore world-renowned Pennington Bay and Stokes Bay. The Red Banks, either a 45 minute walk or a short drive away, is usually teaming with sea life and really lights up around sunset.
Consider Seal Bay Conservation Park, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
Closer to home, enjoy the wildlife and native vegetation on the property itself.
Explore Kangaroo Island's local wineries, honey, eucalyptus products and other regional produce. Dudley Peninsula wineries are worth considering for a leisurely lunch, while Kangaroo Island Spirits and Clifford's Honey Farm offer other ways to discover local products.
Little Sahara offers sandboarding and other outdoor activities. The Island also has wildlife experiences, playgrounds and short walks that can suit families traveling with younger children.
The Island is larger than many visitors expect, and driving times add up. We recommend three minutes at nights at a minimum, so your holiday is more exploring than driving. To truly not feel rushed, we suggest five nights or or more.
A longer stay gives you time to enjoy the attractions, discover quieter corners of the Island and still have a day to relax at Clearwater Haven.
